God is Waiting For You

There is something great and mighty that the Lord desires to do with you!  There is something for which He made you – a very important reason for which He spent time to create you. This is called your destiny, or the purpose for which you were made. I will go on to use these two words, ‘destiny’ and ‘purpose’ interchangeably.

You are not an accident. You were made by the most celebrated Creator there could ever be, the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. ‘He is the Creator of heaven and earth, and everything under the earth. Psalm 89:11 says,’ the heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; the world and all that is in it, You have founded them…’ God has a mighty and unique plan for each of our lives, and this includes your life. This plan cannot be effectively carried out by anyone but you. You were made with the unique gifting and set of talents to execute it. He has allowed you go through a unique set of experiences to acquire the particular skill-set needed to achieve great success in what our Creator God destined you to walk in. Have you noticed that no two individuals are exactly alike? Though they could be identical twins, they have a different DNA set.

God created you with such a passion for life, and has watched and guided you this far. His love for you knows no bounds for His pleasure is tied up in you achieving and entering into divine purposes. His Fatherly Heart has invested everything including His only begotten Son, in ensuring you get on the track that leads directly to your destiny. More so, He has also gotten a crowd of witnesses routing for you and encouraging and hailing you (Hebrew 12:1).

So what is keeping us from putting our hands in Father God’s Hand and going with Him? Why am I keeping the King of Kings waiting for me?
Firstly, how many of us actually know that we were made to do life with the Holy Spirit, rather than us, leading the way in life. Man is made of spirit, soul and body. (1 Thessalonians 5:23) The Body is flesh. It has all sorts of hunger and desires and we can either spend much time indulging it, and pandering to its whims, or we can bring it under the authority of the spirit man (Romans 13:14). Our soul is made up of mind, emotions and will. This is where, depending on what we have taken into us through our portals, (eyes, ears etc) moulds our thoughts, and behaviour. Our spirit man is where engagement with  God’s  Spirit happens, if we have been born in the Spirit (Romans 8: 16-17). This enables us to bring our soul and flesh under Our Lord, and thus be guided by God’s Spirit into destiny.

I love using imagery to explain things, so if you imagine the three parts of man – spirit, soul and body, as the coaches on a train. The spirit coach has to be the front coach where the driver sits. The driver can only know where to go if His Heart is aligned with the Creator’s Heart. So the spirit man directs the soul and the body if they are surrendered to being directed. When we pander to the wishes of the flesh, we are led by our flesh and are not taken into  God’s  purpose. The decisions, emotions, will also have to become aligned to the purpose of our Creator, so we learn to bring them under the authority of our spirit man as led by God. This way God orders our decisions, and our will is aligned with His. Anything outside this means we are walking in disobedience to the will of God.
We were made to be people of purpose (Romans 8:19). This really is why He is waiting for us. He is waiting for us to prioritise a love for Him that supersedes all other “loves”. Papa just like creation is waiting for us to truly enter into sonship. He is waiting for us to understand that we desperately need the empowering of the Holy Spirit.

As we begin to prioritise this intimate relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, we will begin to spend a lot more time in The Presence. It’s easy to spend time with the One you love to develop a deep friendship. In the Presence, we will begin to understand who we are in Christ. We will appreciate that we are forgiven, loved and accepted by Him. We will then begin to understand the reason for which we were made, and begin to appreciate our value system, giftings, and skill set, and how they fit into  God’s  eternal purpose. We will then see how our life experiences have positioned us for what our destiny is. As we grow in our personal relationship with Jesus, our spirit man will be  fed  and nourished, in the Presence of the Holy Spirit. This will ensure our soul and body can come under the leading of the nourished spirit man. This right alignment will enable us to drive our train on the right track, straight into divine purposes.
