FATHER GOD IS “MISSING” HIS CHILDREN

Father God’s desire is to have children that look like His Son, Jesus Christ, who are led by the Holy Spirit and are in relationship and call Him ‘Abba Father’ (John 1:12- 13).
We read in Genesis how God breathed into the first human being that he made, Adam (Genesis 2:7). We can imagine Father God’s joy at this and the closeness through that intimate breath in their relationship. We also know that God decided that man shouldn’t be alone so made woman out of the rib of Adam (Genesis 2:18-23).

We go on to read (Isaiah 14 v 12-16) about how satan was thrown down from heaven by God to earth when he went into rebellion. We know he spends his time attacking the children of God Almighty, trying to deceive them and turn them away from God.
And indeed, satan has been able to turn the hearts of many away from God. He has done this by making people believe his lies, instead of the truth of God. He has spread a spirit of deception so people are confused about very basic realities of life. He has caused mindsets to be raised up above the rule of Jesus Christ.
He has also sent the spirit of fear to further confuse and distract man from the purposes of God. Fear is one of his most potent weapons because it also cripples one emotionally and you are unable to accomplish what you were made for.

In many cases, we have placed other competing ideas, interests and mindsets on the throne of our hearts thereby dethroning Father God. Satan has convinced us that rebellion, betrayal and other vices look more attractive, and that God’s commandments are mere suggestions so we don’t need to obey them.
Satan has made some doubt the goodness of God. This has resulted in distrust in our minds, thereby infecting us with lovelessness. We thus find that there is a lack of interest in having a loving relationship with Father God. Satan has made us believe his lies, over and above the Truth that the Holy Spirit has told us. In this way we continue to empower the liar in our lives, over and above the Holy Spirit.

We are therefore not desiring to receive His love, because we have doubts about the authenticity of it. Circumstances that are orchestrated by the evil one, deceive us into thinking that Father God can’t be trusted and satan can. How awful !!
This is the same ploy that the satan used to deceive Eve in the garden. He made Eve believe that God’s commandment not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil had no dire consequences.
We all know how their disobedience brought sin and all its consequences. Adam and Eve had to be driven from God’s Presence because of sin, but Father God still made a rescue plan, and sent Jesus, our Saviour, to die in our place to pay the penalty for sin. He dealt with the curse of sin and reconciled our hearts back to God. In this way, you and I can both enjoy a loving relationship with God the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Creation, we are told (Romans 8 v 19) is waiting for the raising up of the sons of God who with the help of the Holy Spirit, will become like Jesus. The Holy Spirit does a work to empowers us as we enter into salvation with fear and trembling. We are invited into a passionate love relationship with God our Father, Jesus Christ our Bridegroom and the Holy Spirit.
This heart union or engagement with His children, is what Father God misses. This was why He called us into His family, and did everything so we would be sons, and not feel and act like orphans. In a family, hearts are knit together in love, and each one looks after the needs of the other. Also Father God chose to wait for us to surrender our hearts willingly to Him. He is sovereign God, but respects our free will. He allows us the freedom to choose the type of relationship we want with Him.

Let us receive Father God’s love for us, so we can love on Him too, and then love each other. Let us prioritise this relationship with our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, and invest time and passion in it. Let us yield ourselves to Him, in true worship, for we become like who we worship. Don’t let’s keep Father God waiting any more. Let us fall into His wide embrace.
May the Lord bless us all.
