ARE WE FULFILLING GOD’S PURPOSES?

One question that is really good to revisit is…why did God create me and you…?
It’s important for us to ask Father God if we are fulfilling destiny? It’s important for us to decipher if we are aligning with God’s purposes or the dream in His Heart when He created us. Human beings are said to be the pinnacle of God Almighty’s creation, and it’s important to know if we are bringing pleasure to Him as we align with His Godly intentions or if we are someway off.
We were created to fulfil God’s purpose. We see in Genesis 1 v 26 to 30 that God said…”.Let US make man in our image, according to Our likeness”. What an honour this is to be made in God’s likeness. Have you ever thought about that..?

The God Head desired that we have dominion over the fish of the seas, and in short, over everything. He created male and female. God created them, blessed them and then gave them an assignment. The assignment was to be fruitful, and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it. In other words, fill the earth with others like yourselves, and take good care of the earth. How good and effective have we been at this. Have we contributed our bit in filling up the earth with those who look like Him, by bringing up our children and so many others to look like Him and to know Him?
God Almighty is the Source of Love (1 John 4 v 7) and created us for a love relationship with Him. He desired those who would willingly love Him from the depth of their hearts. He wasn’t looking for robots because He could have made those. He already had made Angels, so those could do His bidding. But He yearned for those who would have a free will and choose to receive His love and then respond by loving on Him. We were created to do whatever we want to do with our hearts, and the question is, what are you doing with yours, and what am I doing with mine. Are we choosing to be locked into the Father’s Heart of love, or have we allowed it harden such that Father God finds it difficult to access our hearts for Himself.

In Genesis 2 v 15, we see that Father God went on to institute the way in which multiplication was to happen. This was to be through a man leaving his father and mother, and then be joined to his wife, so they would then become one. In other words He started the institution of marriage. They would then go on to procreate, and bear children. This was the way they were going to fill the earth. The problem here is that to love each other well, we need to receive and respond to God’s love, for out of there flows the love we can have for our spouses. God can fill our hearts with love for one another as is His second commandment. The first commandment is that we love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength, and every thing else flows from the obedience of this.
So God Almighty thus created us to live in freedom, loving on one another (Gen 2 v 25). We soon saw the fall of man, as Adam and Eve disobeyed God and choose to believe satan instead. This, we know was how the fall of man happened.
God however had a rescue plan to reconcile us His children back to His heart of love. He decided He would send His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ who would pay the penalty for our sins with His Body and Blood, and we would be forgiven and our hearts reconciled back to God. With this in place, man subsequently, could always repent of his sin, and would receive the forgiveness of God. So, are we walking in forgiveness so our relationships with one another and our marriages are strong?

God also created us to worship Him. I am not talking about just singing a few songs, but inviting the Presence of God and giving our whole heart to engage with His in adoration and exaltation of His matchless Name as we pour love and accolade over Him. Worship is a gift that we can give to God, for we become like whom we worship. Worship is about lifting your eyes to Jesus and Him giving you a whole new perspective. Philippians 3 v 3 declares that “we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.
Worship is such a heartfelt emotion, and when we worship Him from the bottom of our hearts in very good and also in challenging situations, then it brings God Almighty such glory. We are declaring our trust in our God that is always faithful and trustworthy. Worship is so good at drawing His Presence down to His people. In the Presence of the Lord is where our hearts are changed and melted and transformed into His likeness.
So, as we commune with our Heavenly Father, we can offer up other aspects of our lives as worship to the most High God. For example, our jobs, if we are sensitive to allowing Him use our time to touch our colleagues in an appropriate way, our walks could be offered up as a time to pray and seek Him. So is our heart yielded to our God Almighty, Jesus and the Holy Spirit in glorious praise that brings heaven down to earth.

We are told in John 10 v 10, by Jesus that we were created for abundant life.
It’s only out of an abundance that we can give to others. With Jesus living on the inside of us, He did also say that out of our heart, would flow rivers of living waters (John 7 v 37-39). We ought to be those who bring others into the experience of the Presence of God. The Holy Spirit ought to flow through us into this world that needs to know Him.
What a privilege it is to hear the beautiful voice of God Almighty. God wired us to hear His voice. God always came to fellowship with Adam in the garden. They walked and talked and together named the animals. Such was the partnership and relationship between them. John 10 v 27 says My sheep hear my voice. We need to press into hearing God's voice so we are obedient and are led by Him. John 1 v 14 says that those who are led by God are sons of God. Parents are so pleased when children look like, or better than them.

As we assess where we are and how well we are flowing with heaven’s purpose, things that may be holding us back, include our personal relationship with God Almighty compromised, surrendering our authority, taking on bondages God didn’t give to us and separation from God amongst others. I would need another article to elaborate on these.
However, for now, let’s acknowledge where we are and go before the Lord to say we are sorry and ask for His help in aligning with His purposes.
There are ways that we have compromised, and ways we have empowered the enemy, so let us repent of these, and yield completely to His Calling on our lives.
May the Lord help us all.
