What is He adorning us with?

What work is Father God doing inside of you…..or me…? What is He adorning us with? Do you know what the Lord is doing in this season of your life?

Once, Jesus admonished His disciples for not discerning the times.

The overall desire of Father God is to transform us into the likeness of Jesus Christ.

So Jesus is our model. The question we ought to ask ourselves is how close do you and I look to Him. When people meet or interact with us, do they feel like they are interacting with Jesus. I wish I could say a big "yes" to these questions. I still have a long way to go. However, there are a couple of things that we all ought to be aware of.

1. We should recognise the journey that Father God would like to take us on, so we yield ourselves to go through experiences through which we learn things that will mould us into His likeness.

2. We give Him full control and trust Him completely so we can embark on this journey with Him.

3. We learn to discern what He is doing in our lives, so we can cooperate with Him and not be in opposition, so the journey doesn't take much longer than it should.

Matthew 5 v 8 says, blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Often times when you want to purify silver or gold, you pass it through intense heat. Impurities, referred to as dross are soon brought to the surface, where it can be skimmed off and removed. This is similar to what happens when we go through fiery trials. Stuff in our hearts that shouldn't live there are brought out and our hearts are purified.

All this is because Father God desires to help our Christian walk. He desires that we learn to walk-in the Spirit, so that we do not fulfill the lust of the flesh (Galatians 5 v 16-26). Our old man has adultery, uncleanliness, hatred, idolatry and so much else. This was our character before we gave our lives to God. We are told that those who have this will not inherit the Kingdom of God. So the Holy Spirit works to teach us to crucify the flesh with its passions and desires, and thus to walk in the Spirit. The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Through life's challenges and experiences, the Holy Spirit fashions us daily into Christ's image.

When you look at these fruit, which ones do you have and which one is the Lord working on in you. Father God desires they are developed inside us, as we yield to His training. This is what makes our character, and over time, we see a lot of the old habits go, and we become adorned with these new adorable fruit.

Have you noticed, when you pray and ask Father God to come, that it is often said that He comes at the last minute, however still just on time. "You may ask, why doesn't He come earlier".

You see, He doesn't come earlier, because He is developing the fruit of patience inside you and I. He desires that we are patient with each other, and thereby able to overlook our difficulties and learn to love each other.

The Lord can use all our experiences in our lives for our good. Like brightly shinning silver, the end product of our purification is something beautiful and valuable. Malachi 3 v 2-3 says, " But who may abide the day of His coming? Who shall stand when he appears? For He is like a refiner's fire and like fuller's soap. It's like a soul made perfect in virtue and holiness. We can get here, not by how much we try, but by God's help and in His way".

Anyone who has had challenges knows that the purification process, could be rather harsh and difficult. The closer the intimacy we share, the easier it is to yield to the process.

We also need to remember, that just like the silver smith who never so much as removes his eyes, from the silver, the Lord is with us through our trials. Our Father is intimately engaged in every part of our trial, and is able to bring the desired comfort at the end.

It's important to point out here, that adverse results in our mortal lives is not evidence of lack of faith or any imperfection in Father God's overall plan. The refiner's fire is real, and qualities of character and righteousness that are forged in the furnace of affliction, go a long way to prepare and mould us to look like Jesus.

It's always good to keep a short account with the Lord. I suggest that like in Psalm 139 v 1, we ask Him to search our hearts. When we feel we have offended Him, we go straight to Him and ask for forgiveness, or maybe, the person I was very impatient with the day before, we can ask for forgiveness.

So as individuals, let's go to ask Papa which area He wants us to co-operate with Him. We need to find out from Him, what He is working on. When He reveals anything, we will repent of not having co-operated in the past, and for the times we have been impatient, unkind or unloving (depending on what He says to you).

We will then give Him our commitment to His process and rest in His loving Arms. Amen.

God Bless You,
