GOD IS GOOD
We are living in a time where there is so much suffering and hardship. The economy of nations is bad, price of food is high and people are finding it very difficult to cope with the challenges of life.
However, this is also a time when we are seeing God’s power move so easily in our lives and through us. God’s love and faithfulness continues to overwhelm us. He watches over us and delivers us from evil and danger. We are in a time when we are seeing light raised up in formerly dark places.
We always have a choice in life, as to how to respond to the situations we find ourselves in. We can either focus on what the enemy is throwing at us or turn to fix our eyes on what Jesus is doing. We ought to be grateful for each new day, for His wonderful breath in our lungs, and air all around us so we can breathe easily. Have we forgotten when some who suffered from covid had to buy oxygen? Now we are in good health, our bodies are strong and we can get out of bed and move, no matter what the enemy is throwing our way. We have strong family units around us, and the Lord, heals our diseases.
When we focus on what the enemy is doing, we fall into the cycle of complaining and grumbling. The Lord tells us Philippians 2v14; “Do everything without complaining and arguing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.
He not only wanted them to be aware of their negative thoughts, before they turned into negative words, but He wanted them to understand that complaining about anything whether it was a person or a circumstance was not only detrimental, but it affected the light we are supposed to give out, that helps to shine a path for others.
We see in Numbers 11, that Father God swiftly deals with complaining. He really doesn’t like it. Complaining is certainly not a fruit of the Spirit. It is our way of showing our discontentment with God and what He is allowing in our lives. Our Father in heaven desires that we love and trust Him completely, even when we can’t understand what He is doing. He promises never to leave us nor forsake us.
It’s important that we note that none of this is because there may not be stuff to complain about. However, complaining should not be the option of choice for a Spirit-filled child of God. Rather our Heavenly Father desires that we have a thankful heart. He then would like us to bring our challenges and trials to Him because He can handle them.
Most times, it’s often easier to complain, than remember who we belong to. But thinking more about it, why do you want to join in what unbelievers around you are doing? How does this glorify God in anyway. What have you done with the light that should be shining forth from you so you provide light for the journey of others close to you.
My Dear ones, Father God has promised not to leave us nor forsake us, so we can stayed assured that our God who knows the end from the beginning, is able to carry us through safely.
Let us encourage each other through these challenging times, and also take time to praise and worship the King of Kings who is worthy of our praise. He is more than able to turn things around for our good.
